I completed this piece (one of my more demented manifestations of Twirrel) more-or-less in a trance, simply drawing from one side of the page to the other in pen, something I rarely do without preparing a rough sketch in pencil first. In addition, I had no idea what it was going to look like until after I finished it. I could claim that this is proof of divine inspiration, but the nature of the image seems to belie that idea. I doubt even a dubious Maker (to lend a more Miltonic edge to things) could wish such grotesquerie upon the world.
Something about the overall design makes me keep staring at this. I love how not all the lines connect, and seem trapped in their own tiny web. I also really like the thing on the right side of the page. It looks like either a tree or a woman in a dress, or both. It reminds me of surrealist automatism.

"I try not to let my schooling interfere with my education."
Thanks! The way I see it, there's already a surplus of pictures pertaining to flowers and butterflies and whatnot in the world, I may as well add something that hasn't been seen before (and hopefully never will be in reality).
yah i definatly agree. there are alot of those darned flowers and butterlfies. it was very creative to make something original like this. The way he holds the head and smiles looks like he definatly doesn't have second thoughts on beheading her.lol.

Thanks! And I typically have to sketch first as well, and then block in the parts to be inked. So this picture came as something of a surprise. I'm glad you like it.
